To start a career in real estate you will need to complete the pre-licensing course.
The pre-licensing course is a self paced, home based study course. Once you register for the course you have one calendar year to pass course material. Once you feel comfortable with the material, there is an examination (100 multiple choice), and you are required to get a 70% to pass. You have three attempts at the exam and if you are not successful in the first attempt there will be a $100 + HST re-write fee for each additional writing.
Registration for the Pre-Licensing course is $1,520.00. This cost is non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration includes HST, the study materials and the first writing of the exam, which is held at the College of the North Atlantic.
Once you pass this course, you can apply to the provincial government (ServiceNL) for your licence. In order to apply you will need your transcript (we will provide), proof that you are bonded, and verification that you are signed up with a brokerage that is registered in the province.
The specific policy , rules and regulations for pre-livense courses as set forth by the regulator can be found in the Professional Development Guidebook
